Making a company gift
As GBWR is a registered charity this means that companies can claim tax relief on their charitable donations to us when assessing their profits for corporation tax. Your accountant can advise on the practicalities alternatively you can see more by visiting the Inland Revenue website.
Cause Related Marketing Partnerships
Cause Related Marketing (CRM) is one of the fastest growing areas of corporate partnership. Publicly linking with GBWR can provide a credible incentive for customers and staff to support and is widely accepted as the best product or service differentiators in a competitive market place.
Association with GBWR a world class disability sport can also improve brand perception employee recognition and demonstrate your corporate responsibility. It can be communicated in a variety of ways and can lead to increased sales, generating press and PR coverage, attract new customers and increase awareness of the launch of a new product.
Payroll Giving
Payroll giving is the easiest tax efficient way of giving directly from your pay to a charity. It’s simple to run, increases staff morale and shows your company cares. Regular donations like this help GBWR to plan ahead
Staff Fundraising
Working with a charity can provide staff with a tangible incentive to work more closely together by providing shared goals and a single purpose to aim for.
Getting employees involved is also a great way to boost morale, team spirit and motivation. It can also generate goodwill with your customers, suppliers and the local community and can also be a lot of fun!
Volunteering
Encourage your staff to help out at GBWR games or on a specific project. Benefits include dedicated staff motivation; a real sense of how your support is working; team building exercises personal development and measurable return on your investment.
Secondments
Secondments are an excellent way of training people in new skills including project management, disability awareness and event management. If you are a company or an unincorporated employer, as a sole trader for instance, you can claim tax relief on any employee working on secondment for GBWR on a temporary basis. We can teach staff valuable leadership, management and communication skills as well as gaining insight into a disability sport at world class level.
Any costs incurred in connection with the employment of the person on secondment (including travel expenses his or her salary and on costs etc) are taken into account and allowed as a deduction in calculating your trading profits for tax purposes.
Gift Aid at work
Donate to GBWR through Gift Aid and you can make your gift go further at no extra cost to you or your company.
Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give wheelchair Rugby, we get an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue. Since the donation is taken from gross pay it means your donation goes further therefore it makes sense all round to Gift Aid it where possible.
Give As You Earn Schemes
One of the simplest, most flexible and tax efficient methods for all your staff paid through PAYE is to give regularly via support to GBWR. Your staff choose exactly how they much they want to give each month to help Wheelchair Rugby. The donation then comes off their gross pay, before it reaches the taxman and means we can plan for our long term future and because the donation is taken directly from their pay before paying tax, means it actually costs them less. Payments are deducted before tax and the Government adds a 10 per cent supplement. By way of an example a £5 gift will only cost the a staff member £3.90 but GBWR will actually receive the sum of £5.50.
